Why Families Choose Dagdrivarn Maine Coon
Every kitten in our program comes from parents who are tested for HD with the Health Program, screened for HCM at 1, 2, 3, and 5 years of age. The parents are tested for HCM1, PK-def, and SMA. Sometimes they are free by parents, but most of the time they have a Panel Labogen XXL-test done. It's likely we soon start with routine parental testing for the kittens that will go to other breeders. Dagdrivarn also works for better genetic diversity, which means that we work with outcross to lower the Clones and the Complete inbreeding. Today, most MCO is around 15% in Complete COI. We try to keep it a good bit below 10% The cats live within the home as family members; they are not kept in cages!
